The Honourable Konris Maynard was born and raised in “The Village” and at thirty-two years of age he became the youngest parliamentarian serving in the National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis after resoundingly defeating the four-term incumbent representative who had also served as Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. Maynard’s victory at the polls was testimony to his tenacity, organizational skills as well as his natural grit and mettle in facing down incredible odds to win the hearts and minds of the people of Constituency #3. After four years serving on the Opposition benches, Konris has proven himself to be a strong, courageous and dynamic voice in Parliament where he often has had to challenge the governing administration for their grievances against the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Driven by a strong desire to serve and to contribute in a direct and positive way to the development and prosperity of his community and his country, Maynard has been “winning big” for the people of West Basseterre and commits to win even bigger when, with the help and blessing of his constituents, he becomes the next elected representative of West Basseterre.
Over the last four years, Konris has worked diligently to address the concerns and needs of the people of West Basseterre through financial contributions and donations in support of a number of community groups and events, particularly those that cater to the needs of children, the elderly and sports. An avid fan of the Village Superstars, Maynard has been a prominent patron of the Village Football League.
As the father of two beautiful little girls, Konris has demonstrated his love for children through active participation in many of the daycare and primary school activities taking place in his Constituency and regularly contributes books, art and school supplies to the students of all the schools in the area. His scholarship programme and awards have touched the lives of many outstanding students.
MP Maynard’s commitment to the people he represents has been consistent and unshakeable. His Constituency Office has never closed, and its staff has maintained an open-door policy where all constituents are welcomed and are provided with a full range of services, including job search and employment assistance.
When given a fresh mandate from the people, as part of a NextGen SKN Labour administration, Konris is looking forward to widening his outreach and expanding the programmes that he will be able to deliver to constituents in the areas of housing, land-ownership, agriculture development, upgrading of community and sporting facilities, supporting the Arts and Culture, youth empowerment and employment, small businesses enterprise development and alternative energy development.
In his soon-to-be released Manifesto for West Basseterre, Konris outlines a comprehensive programme of community development based on his interaction with the constituents of West Basseterre. Konris’ commitment to servant leadership combined with his passion to achieve and excel will be a great asset as he tackles the various challenges of West Basseterre with the same tenacity, organization and commitment that has endeared him to his constituents over the last four year and enabled him to perform with distinction as a Member of Parliament, an Engineer and as a 6-peat Calypso Monarch.
In a NextGen SKN, Konris will win BIGGER in advancing the good governance agenda in keeping with his core ideals as well as helping to attract major investments and economic activity to the community of West Basseterre and the wider Federation as a means of helping citizens to attain their goals.
